Mother jailed on possible drug, child endangerment charges

A woman is facing charges of drug possession and child endangerment following a traffic stop in Greenville.

Ambre Nichole Landis, 34, of New Weston, was arrested overnight after she was stopped for a minor traffic violation at Greenville Celina Road and Childrens Home Bradford Road, according to a release from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A K-9 unit alerted the deputy to narcotics in the vehicle and “a large amount” of meth was found in the vehicle, according to the release.

Authorities said Landis’ 7-year-old son was a passenger in the vehicle. He was handed over to a family member as Landis was transported and booked into the Darke County Jail.
