Kettering police: Juvenile robbed at gunpoint by other juveniles

One juvenile is in custody as Kettering police continue to investigate a report of a 14-year-old boy robbed at gunpoint by four other juveniles that included one who held a pistol to the victim’s head.

“This is a very rare occasion, especially in Kettering, to have something like this happen,” Officer John Jung told News Center 7’s Natalie Jovonovich on Monday evening.

Police are continuing to investigate what led to the weekend incident, Officer Jung said, but according to a police department incident report, four juveniles committed the robbery in a building in the area of Brownleigh Road and Wilmington Pike.

Jung said the juvenile who was armed — police determined the weapon to be an Airsoft pistol — is in Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of aggravated burglary. The other three juveniles are being charged with obstruction. They have been released and will have to come to court on another date.

No shots were fired, according to the incident report.
