Huber Heights woman indicted in 2017 OVI crash that caused life-threatening injuries

A Huber Heights woman accused of driving drunk in a crash that led three of her passengers to suffer life-threatening injuries is due in court more than a year later.

Veronique Bates, 36, was indicted Wednesday for three counts of aggravated vehicular assault, a felony, and misdemeanor OVI stemming from the Jan. 15, 2017, crash in Harrison Twp.

Bates was the driver of a blue 2005 Chrysler 300 headed west in the 600 block of on West Siebenthaler Avenue. Shortly before 10 p.m., she lost control and traveled off the right side of the road and crashed into a mailbox and then struck a utility pole, according to the traffic crash report filed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

She was summoned to be arraigned March 15, court records show.
