Mother injured, infant OK in Tipp City crash

TIPP CITY — UPDATE @ 2:55 p.m.

A woman was taken to the hospital after she crashed into a home on church property in Tipp City, but her 5-month-old daughter was not injured.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. at a home on the property of Ginghamsburg Church on South County Road 25 A.

Miami County Sgt. Todd Tennant said it’s not clear why the northbound driver lost control and went off the road, overcorrected then struck a fire hydrant before hitting the house.

Speed and/or distracted driving may be factors in the crash, Tennant said.

The backseat passenger, the 5-month-old daughter, was properly restrained and was not hurt, Tennant said.
