Centerville cruiser damaged in weekend police chase

SUGARCREEK TWP. — We’re working to learn more today about a Centerville police cruiser struck while assisting in a police chase by Sugarcreek Twp.

A Centerville police cruiser was struck around 6:15 p.m. Sunday while assisting Sugarcreek Twp. police on a call on Interstate 675. No one was injured in that incident,but police were looking for a red Pontiac.

News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy today is working to learn more and whether or not the driver in a red vehicle was ever apprehended.

Cruiser camera footage obtained from Centerville shows the sound of a red Pontiac side-swipe the cruiser and then you see the red car jet through the intersection in area of Wilmington Pike and Clyo Road.

The cruiser then gives chase.
