Barb Tankersley to complete James Lickliter’s term

Carlisle Village Council unanimously selected Barb Tankersley to complete the final two years of Councilman James Lickliter’s term.

Mayor Randy Winkler said Tankersley was selected to complete Lickliter’s term because she has a lot of knowledge about the village.

Tankersley, who was appointed to fill a vacancy two years ago was ruled off the November ballot by the Warren County Board of Elections due to an error on her petitions to seek a full four-year term.

Her new term begins Jan. 1, 2018, and will complete the final two years of Councilman James Lickliter, who submitted his resignation last month.

“They felt that she was the best person for the job at this time,” Winkler said.

She was one of five applicants who was seeking Lickliter’s seat. However, neither she nor Lickliter participated in the discussion or deliberations to fill the vacancy, Winkler said.

Lickliter, the village’s deputy mayor, announced he was stepping down effective Dec. 31 for personal reasons. He has been an at-large member of council for the past 10 years.
