Harrison Twp. fatal crash victim IDed

HARRISON TWP. — The 51-year-old Vandalia woman killed in a fatal vehicle crash on North Main Street and Shoup Mill Road on Tuesday has been identified as Christine Bowyer, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

  • Around 7:20 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Shoup Mill Road and state Route 48 for a three-vehicle crash.
  • A 58-year-old male driver in a Chevrolet Cobalt  sustained minor injuries and did not want immediate treatment.
  • A 73-year-old male driver in a Ford 350 passenger van, who was traveling with two passengers, was taken to Grandview Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening  injuries.

Bowyer was traveling east on Turner Road, which becomes Shoup Mill at SR 48,  in a Jeep Cherokee when she entered the intersection against a red light, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Bowyer’s vehicle struck a Chevrolet Cobalt traveling south on State Route 48 before colliding with a passenger van.

The crash is under investigation by the Traffic Services Unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
