One person is dead after a shooting Friday at a nursing home for veterans in Georgia.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home around 11:20 a.m. Deputies said that, upon arrival, they found a person dead of a gunshot wound.

People along the East and Gulf coasts took to social media Tuesday morning after a test tsunami warning was apparently confused for the real thing, prompting at least one company to send alerts to residents from Texas to New York City.

The National Weather Service’s National Tsunami Warning Center sent out a monthly tsunami warning test around 8:30 a.m., according to officials.

“We have been notified that some users received this test messages as an actual tsunami warning,” officials with the NWS regional office in Caribou, Maine, said on Twitter. “A tsunami warning is not in effect. Repeat, a tsunami warning is not in effect.”

At Least 5 Injured In Shooting At Los Angeles Middle School

Los Angeles police are calling a shooting at a middle school Thursday morning that left five people injured “accidental,” according to news reports. A 12-year-old girl was first taken into custody, but after questioning, police determined the shooting at Salvador Castro Middle School was an accident. The victims ranged in age from 11 to 30, and at least one person was critically injured.
