Rainy road, speed blamed for Trotwood wreck that sends 1 to hospital

A two-vehicle accident in Trotwood that police said involved speed and weather sent one person to a hospital.

An SUV traveling at high speed in the 5600 block of Salem Bend Drive crossed the double yellow line on a curve and hit a sedan just after 5:30 p.m., Trotwood police said.

None of three people in the SUV was injured. The driver of the sedan suffered a head injury, deemed non-life threatening, and was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the SUV will be cited for speed and failure to control.

Salem Bend Drive was shut down for a time to allow wreckers to clear the scene.
