Comedian Charlie Murphy, the older brother of fellow comedian Eddie Murphy, has died, according to multiple reports. He was 57.

Charlie Murphy's manager told TMZ that the actor died Wednesday at a hospital in New York. He had been undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia.

An unidentified source close to Demme’s family told IndieWire on Wednesday that Demme died of esophageal cancer and complications from heart disease.

School district: No shooter at Washington state middle school, despite report

School district officials said authorities did not find a shooter at Hawkins Middle School in Mason County, Washington, on Wednesday afternoon, after deputies said they were responding to a report of an active shooter.

A police officer was shot dead and a gunman killed near Paris’ famed Champs Elysees on Thursday night.

The attacker, who was not identified, was killed by officers returning fire after he aimed at police before 9:30 p.m. local time and fired multiple shots, according to the French interior ministry.

Two other people were seriously injured.

It was not immediately clear what motivated the attack. Authorities have launched a counter-terrorism investigation.
