The Clark-Shawnee Local School District announced today that a custodian was placed on leave pending a required termination hearing. Baumgardner was fired Sept. 20 by the Clark-Shawnee Board of Education, just days after the theft was discovered and criminal charges were brought.

Over the last two weeks, the district has reviewed and revamped policies including medication logging, record-keeping, storage, dispensation and other procedures, and will continue consulting with local law enforcement and medical practitioners to ensure that best practices are consistently in place throughout the district, according to a statement from Clark-Shawnee.

A letter was sent home to Reid School parents this afternoon notifying them of these developments, according to districts.
