Power restored to hundreds in Xenia

XENIA — UPDATE @ 5:50 p.m.

Power has been restored to all customers.

UPDATE @ 5:36 p.m.

Kevin Hall, director of operations at DP&L, said a car crashed into a pole Saturday night on North Detroit Street, Xenia. That caused power outage for 1,177 customers.

Most were restored by 1 a.m., Hall said, but about 222 customers had to stay without power until the utility pole was replaced. Wires had also been knocked down last night.

By 5:30 p.m. about 102 remained without power, according to the outage map.

Over 200 customers with Dayton Power and Light Co. remain without power in Xenia.

As of 4:30 p.m. Sunday, 222 customers remained without power, according to the DP&L outage map. The outage started around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rain returns this week, flooding a concern

A Xenia resident without power Sunday said it’s also caused her heat to go out.

Some businesses are also affected in the area of 2000 block of North Detroit Street, according to residents.
