Shooting in Dayton likely an accident, police say

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 9:51 p.m.: One person has been taken to a hospital after what Dayton police are calling a likely accidental shooting.

The person, identified as a male, reportedly is in stable condition, a police lieutenant said. The person shot himself in the leg, the lieutenant said.

Police are investigating a reported shooting in the 500 block of St. Paul Avenue in Dayton.

The incident was reported about 8:24 p.m. A medic is on scene as well.
