In person classes at the Preble County high school have been suspended for one week, effective Friday due to the additional positive cases of COVID-19. The district reports only four students currently have active positive cases. However the four students had contact with around 60 other students, which moved them into quarantine.

District superintendent Bob Fischer said the 60 students in quarantine represents about 20 percent of the high school population.

In a message posted on YouTube sent to parents last night, Fischer said that two students who received positive test results Thursday have not been to school since September 18 and that the school nurse and administration have conducted contact tracing.

All National Trail High School students will move to online learning for the week and that all after-school activities are postponed until October 5, according to Fischer.

He also said that the National Trail Middle and Elementary Schools will operate as normal with in-person classes and normal bus routes.
