Here's my idea. Let's start a fake university in Upstate New York. We'll put all our energy and focus into the basketball team, which we'll building up through a series a fake news articles and wacky contrivances until the Syracuse Orange naturally add us to their non-conference schedule while we reap the big payday.
Because clearly, if you have a college basketball team in Upstate New York, the Syracuse Orange will schedule you. Binghamton Bearcats, you're up!
Binghamton returns to the Carrier Dome for the first time since 2004 when Syracuse hosts the Bearcats on December 7, 2013.
The two Central New York basketball programs played four consecutive seasons – from 2001-2002 to 2004-2005 –- and Syracuse won all four outings.
Lazarus Sims is an assistant with Bingy, so that'll be a nice homecoming of sorts. He's busy working with head coach Tommy Dempsey to undo all of the damage that former Georgetown Hoyas assistant Kevin Broadus did during his stint with BU.
