Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White (ankle, hamstring) was injured in the fourth quarter of the team's loss to the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 5. The Falcons have a bye in Week 6, but it is possible that White could miss games in the weeks after that, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fantasy impact: White's performance this season has to be somewhat disappointing for his fantasy owners. The veteran is used to being the star receiver on the Falcons and quite the dynamic duo with fellow receiver Julio Jones. Early in the season, his high ankle sprain has really limited him.
With Jones potentially out for the season with an ankle injury also suffered against the Jets, it's an uptick in value for White, assuming of course that he will be able to play at 100% speed at some point in the season.
So far this year, White has just 14 catches for 129 yards and has yet to find the end zone. Those stats are definitely subpar for someone who is used to getting close to 100 receptions per year and is always a threat to score a double-digit number of touchdowns in a season.
