It's a rather surprising move by the Rams. Pead did not appear on the injury reports this week and led all running backs in snaps Sunday. He took over after Richardson went down and got 63 yards from scrimmage on 13 touches. It appears that Pead is a healthy scratch for the game.
Fantasy impact: So much for the talk of a timeshare between Richardson and Pead. Richardson's foot injury must have healed better than expected even though he played just two snaps against the Cowboys. Fantasy owners should quickly pull Pead from their lineups if they were planning to start him this week. Richardson is still not an appealing fantasy option against the 49ers defense, even with Patrick Willis and Aldon Smith out.
