New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. Smith is talented but has struggled with consistency in his rookie season. He looked good in the first half completing eight of his nine passes with no interceptions and only taking one sack. The Falcons aren't getting any pressure on him and he is looking very poised and comfortable running the offense. Without his two best receivers in Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill, Smith is finding tight end Jeff Cumberland and Jeremy Kerley and has already thrown two touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: Smith has talent but like many rookie quarterbacks has struggled with consistency. Going into Monday Night Football, Smith had four touchdowns and eight interceptions on the year while throwing for 1090 yards. He also had taken 14 sacks heading into Week 5. He is looking good on the big stage of Monday Night Football without his two best receivers in Holmes and Hill although the Falcons aren't getting any pressure. If Smith can find some consistency and prevent mistakes, he could turn into a good fantasy option. The Jets will face the PIttsburgh Steelers in Week 6.
