The 49ers have until 1:00 p.m. PT on Tuesday to cut down to 75 players, and it looks like the moves are starting to develop. According to Kyle Bonagura, the 49ers have cut offensive lineman Al Netter, linebacker Joe Holland and running back D.J. Harper.
None of the moves is a shock at this point, and most of the roster cuts before tomorrow will be more or less expected news. Netter was at the bottom of the offensive line depth chart. Holland was recently added when Nate Stupar got hurt, and had little chance to show what he could do in his second stint with the 49ers. Harper was a talented undrafted free agent, but Jewel Hampton had clearly stayed ahead of him on the depth chart, and Harper was not helped by a Week 1 fumble.
These first three cuts get the 49ers down to 87 players, amidst rumors they are considering dealing linebacker Parys Haralson. We expect plenty more on cuts in the coming hours.
