+ Perhaps the most notable moment of the day was the devastating block on rookie defensive end Margus Hunt, who was the victim of a nasty hit by fullback John Conner. It was always believed that Hunt's transition into the NFL would take some time. It's also possible that he was unprepared with the team hitting a little harder today with shoulder pads. However, no special teams work.
+ Bengals H-back Orson Charles also had a nice block during team drills, though it wasn't mentioned who he dozered.
+ Though he's not practicing while on the team's NFI (PUP-like) list, Andre Smith was on the field rehabilitating and Lance McAlister noted that he looks looking a little trimmer compared to last year (there's a picture).
+ Taylor Mays started with the first-team defense when the Bengals began working on team drills. He was the first safety, beside Reggie Nelson on Thursday, and Shawn Williams was placed in that role on Friday. However, as Brennen Warner notes, no single player is the favorite or getting a bulk of the team's snaps.
It's a three man battle between George Iloka, Taylor mays, Shawn Williams for starting S. the way they are rotating snaps, no clear favorite— Brennen Warner (@JustBeWarned) July 27, 2013
Williams had a rough go early when Andrew Hawkins posted a 30-plus yard reception with Williams covering.

+ First team pass rushers were Michael Johnson and Carlos Dunlap at defensive end with Geno Atkins and Wallace Gilberry inside. First team linebackers were Rey Maualuga (MLB), James Harrison (SAM) and Vontaze Burfict (WILL).
The second-team defensive line included Robert Geathers and Gilberry at defensive end with Devon Still and Brandon Thompson at defensive tackle. Second team linebackers were Emmanual Lamur, Vincent Rey, and Jayson DiManche.
+ During the team's first 11-on-11 period, Andy Dalton completed five of six passes with three going to Mohamed Sanu. During the second 11-on-11 session, Dalton completed 13 of 21 passes with four going to running back Giovani Bernard.
+ Leon Hall and Terence Newman were on the first-team defense at cornerback with Dre Kirkpatrick and Adam Jones on the second-team unit.
+ After having a solid start during the first two days of camp, Josh Johnson seemed to struggle a bit on Saturday.
+ On a play during the second 11-on-11 session, Geno Atkins, with a burst up-field, tipped an Andy Dalton pass. Giovani Bernard, who was very active in the passing game today, caught the football anyway. Atkins had another swat later during the session.
+ Things got a little chippy during the final quarter of practice when Giovani Bernard took a big hit from safety George Iloka. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict stepped up and began "talking smack" to Bernard and the two had to be separated by teammates.
+ As has been expected rookie tight end Tyler Eifert, who has been very involved during training camp at this point, lined up out wide on Saturday. Jermaine Gresham was also moved around.
+ Free agent guard Mike Pollak got some work in with the first team offense at left guard.
+ Players that worked on their punt returns were Adam Jones, Giovani Bernard, Andrew Hawkins, and Dane Sanzenbacher.
+ And a shoutout to Andrew Fox Miller and Brennen Warner, along with Dan Hoard, Joe Reedy, and Geoff Hobson for an awesome flow of updates throughout the session.
