I know what you're thinking.
What the heck has former Bengals running back Bernard Scott been up to lately?
It's only natural, considering that Scott was one of the more often-talked about offensive players in Cincinnati, due the Giovani-like talent that we believed that he should have had. Instead, disappointment and injury led to his eventual demotion from the 53-man roster into free agency.
However, he's getting some looks around the NFL.
Aaron Wilson with the Baltimore Sun writes that Bernard worked out for the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, but "wasn't immediately signed to a contract." The Ravens running game has been awful this year, further compounded by having two active running backs on their roster (Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce).
Scott worked out for the Oakland Raiders earlier this month.
Jason with SB Nation's Ravens' Baltimore Beatdown site, writes:
With the way the running game has struggled through six weeks, it's unclear what Scott would actually bring to the table. The Ravens have been unable to get great yardage from either Ray Rice or Bernard Pierce after seeing success from them in the past.
Cincinnati released Scott from the team's PUP list on Sept. 17, supposedly after he was cleared by doctors (players can't be released while injured unless there's a settlement).
