Another day of NFL Training Camps and another devastating season-ending injury is added to the list. We've already heard about the Ravens' loss of tight end Dennis Pitta, as well as the big injuries to Dan Koppen of the Broncos and a couple of others. This next one, however, will undoubtedly hits closer to home with Bengals fans than the others, as it involves a former player.
According to multiple reports, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Armon Binns tore his MCL and ACL in Sunday's practice. The injury and recovery will cost him the entire 2013 season. A former University of Cincinnati Bearcat and then a Bengal in 2011 and 2012, Binns was making some nice headway this offseason with the Dolphins. In fact, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald says that Binns would have likely been the team's No.4 receiver this year.
It's a stark reminder that a team's roster can suffer a blow before a real game snap has even been taken. We'll see where Lady Luck decides to rear her ugly head next--let's just hope it isn't in Cincinnati. In the meantime, a speedy and full recovery to Binns.
