After missing the Oakland Raiders' Week 5 game, running back Darren McFadden returned to action Sunday, rushing for 52 yards on 16 carries as the Raiders fell 24-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs. McFadden also had 31 receiving yards on three receptions.
McFadden missed the game a week ago with a hamstring injury, and was questionable until Sunday morning as he tried to return. Backup Rashad Jennings was also a question mark entering the game, and also played, with 12 rushing yards on four carries and nine receiving yards on one reception. The team's third running back, Marcel Reece, had no touches, but did have one reception for nine yards.
Fantasy impact: Between McFadden likely not being at full strength and the fact that the Raiders were facing maybe the best defense in the league, it's hard to blame McFadden for a relatively pedestrian 3.3 yards per carry and 83 all-purpose yards.
On the other hand, injuries are as much a part of McFadden's game as anything. That's why, despite his talent, he's never really been worthy of true RB1 consideration. He's a fine RB2 going forward, but fantasy players should make sure they have a good backup in case McFadden misses more time.
