Earlier this week, Matt Trogdon wrote about the Vegas odds for this weekend's ACC games.
Now, your STL staff will put their money where their mouths are (not really) in our ACC Pick 'Em challenge. And we invite YOU, loyal readers, to join in!
Our picks this week are below, with the all-important "STL Consensus" out to the right. Check 'em out, read our "analysis" (a loose term), then drop your picks down in the comments.
We'll track our week-to-week performance. We ask you to do the same, weekly. The three commenters at the end of the regular season with the highest % of correct picks (minimum 80% of games picked) will win "Keep Calm and Streak the Lawn" T-Shirts.
Without further ado, here are week 1's games (with lines from VegasInsider.com)

|Alabama (-20) vs. Virginia Tech||Bama||VT||Bama||Bama||VT||Bama||Bama||Bama||Bama||Bama (7-2)|
|BYU (-1) @ Virginia||UVA||UVA||UVA||BYU||BYU||UVA||BYU||UVA||UVA||UVA (6-3)|
|FSU (-10.5) @ Pitt||Pitt||FSU||FSU||FSU||FSU||FSU||FSU||FSU||FSU||FSU (8-1)|
UNC @ USC (-12.5): Clowney may literally tear Brynn Renner's head off. And I will shed not one single tear when he does. -PMW
La Tech @ NCSU (-14.5): This isn't quite the La. Tech team that stole a win in Scott Stadium last season. NCSU covers at home. -BAS
Elon @ Georgia Tech (-46): Elon isn't going to win. But holy hamburger 46 pts is an enormous spread. -PMW
FIU @ Maryland (-22): Maryland...meh. -MT
Villanova @ Boston College (-16.5): Villanova is an FCS powerhouse. BC is...not an FBS powerhouse. Wouldn't be shocked to see Villanova win outright. -PMW
FAU @ Miami (-32): Wasn't FAU mentioned in a Rick Ross song? Or was that FAMU? Either way, Miami is going to steam roll. -CD
Presbyterian @ Wake Forest (-38): LOL at Wake doing Wake things. What do you mean they beat us last year? Sad Panda. -BL
PSU (-8) @ Syracuse: I don't see Penn State missing 147 field goals to lose this one. Wait. I'm supposed to be rooting for the ACC school? Syracuse is in the ACC? Crap. -TM
Georgia (-1.5) @ Clemson: The ACC has shown little ability to compete with SEC foes. Clemson has a good shot at doing so in what should be a wild Death Valley, but Georgia (who has covered 8 straight times as road favorite) escapes. -BAS
NC Central @ Duke (-33): At some point after watching Virginia lose four of the past five contests against Duke, I realized that I just have to start believing. Yep, I just said that. Do we really have six of us picking Duke to win by more than 33? -BL
Alabama (-20) vs. Virginia Tech: I really don't see VPISU having a chance on this one, no matter how many keys are jingled. Saban's boys take this easily...and they better. I can't take Hokie bragging this early in September. -CD
BYU (-1) @ Virginia: WAHOOWA! Need I say more? Yes, we are homers...but the beauty of picking ATS is that there's no such thing as a "bad" bet. -BAS
FSU (-10.5) @ Pitt: FSU has top ten talent. Pitt...doesn't. Pitt's first game in the ACC will not be a fun one for them. - PG
Best of luck to all!
