We all know about "The Abusement Park". In bound Ohio State freshman middle linebacker Mike Mitchell was one of the earlier players to get his black striped removed in fall camp, and no one was particularly surprised. A year back, Mitchell won Nike's SPARQ combine at The Opening 2012, running an insane 40 yard dash in the process.
It looks like he wasn't the only one to get outstanding athletic genes in the family. On Thursday, Thad Matta and the Ohio State men's basketball team received the commitment of 2015 small forward, Mickey Mitchell, Mike's kid brother. Though a two sport start in high school, it's not expected Mitchell will play both at the next level and will instead focus on basketball (though it would give Urban Meyer his own Brock Osweiler; Mitchell checks in at 6-7).
With several years to go before he's college bound (and with somewhat the strength & conditioning expert in big brother a cell phone call away), Mitchell should be able to put himself in position to compete early when he arrives on Campus in Columbus. Just 210 pounds a year or so back, he's weighed in at recent camps closer to 245 pounds.
Mitchell gives Thad Matta and company another commit for the class of 2015. and a big one at that; Mitchell grades out as a composite 5-star on the 247Composite rankings.
