Well this should be interesting: Duke is the first college program to use SportVU, a stat measuring tool which takes 25 pictures per second.
Unlike the NBA, Duke has installed it in the practice facility, necessary really since unlike the NBA, there will only be 17 home games.
It’ll be really interesting to see (not that we will of course but you get the point) how many times Quinn Cook goes left or right, or precisely where Jabari Parker’s three point range ends.
It’d also be interesting to see how it could be used otherwise. For instance, could you also measure crowd response? Can you break down official’s movements and tendencies? Could you get a good read on the opposing coach?
