As the clock wound down in Clemson’s win over Georgia, the Death Valley crowd began to chant…”ACC! ACC! ACC!”
And why not? The Tigers, as Dabo Swinney gleefully pointed out while running off the field, are the first non-SEC team to beat Top Ten SEC teams in consecutive games (he’s counting the bowl win over LSU last season).
It’s a big win, for sure. How big? The State’s Ron Morris thinks that Clemson will now be in the national championship conversation.
Clemson should sail through to October 19th, when the Tigers host FSU. After that, the only teams Clemson should worry much about are Georgia Tech and South Carolina.
We’ll see how Florida State and Miami turn out, but it’s nice to have an ACC team held in high regard.
