One of the nice things about our world today is that it’s become easy to keep up with people (of course we’ve learned recently that this is a double edged-sword, but never mind the NSA for the moment).

So we were really thrilled to learn that on Sunday former Duke player Fred Lind’s daughter, Caroline, along with her seven teammates, won the Women’s 8 world rowing championship.
They beat second-place Romania by five seconds. That might not sound like much but rowing, like sprinting, usually has a pretty tight finish.
By the way, that’s eight straight gold medals for the Women’s 8.
