Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown has been cleared by the team's medical staff and will practice Sunday, head coach Randy Edsall announced on his weekly teleconference Sunday.
Brown suffered the injury in the team's 63-0 loss against Florida State, missing the second half of that game and all of the Terps' 27-26 win over Virginia Saturday. His quick return is a sigh of relief for Maryland fans -- Brown had been putting together a career season, and has previously suffered two season-ending injuries in his time with the Terps.
Brown's replacement, Caleb Rowe, completed 18 of 34 passes for 332 yards and a touchdown against Virginia, including the game-winning 12-yard touchdown pass to Dave Stinebaugh with five minutes to play (after a huge deep ball to Deon Long on third-and-long).
While nothing is certain yet, this development certainly points to a return for Brown in the Terps' next game. Maryland will play Wake Forest on the road Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
