Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson had a miserable day running the football Sunday, salvaging his fantasy value with a 49-yard touchdown reception. Johnson managed only 17 rushing yards on ten attempts as the Titans fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 26-17.
Johnson's touchdown catch was one of his four receptions in the game, going for 63 receiving yards. The touchdown grab was Tennessee's first score of the game.
Fantasy impact: Johnson is averaging barely 3.1 yards per carry through five games this season, and the touchdown catch was his first score of any kind. He hasn't topped 100 yards in any individual game, and his touchdown was his first play of longer than 23 yards.
All of that is to say that Chris Johnson is rapidly losing any fantasy relevance he had. He was a high-end RB2 on draft day (and could even conceivably have been an RB1 in deeper leagues). At this point, though, he can't be trusted as an every-week starter. Whatever upside Johnson had appears to be going. Maybe even gone.
