Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts suffered a groin injury on Wednesday and had to leave practice early. He could miss more practice time and will likely appear on Thursday's injury report. His status is unknown for Sunday's game in St. Louis.
He was on the injury report for Week 2 with a groin injury, so this is troubling news. It's worth mentioning that this circumstance compares to Patriots receiver Danny Amendola. Amendola aggravated his groin injury and is expected to miss about a month.
Of course, all injuries are different, so Shorts could be fine for Week 5 against the Rams. He will likely be matched up with Janoris Jenkins and this injury news doesn't help his case. Ace Sanders has seen more targets and could get even more on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: It's going to be tough to play Shorts with this news. Unless we get a lot of positives on Thursday, owners should prepare for alternatives. If you're in a deep league and are really in a pinch, Ace Sanders could be a sneaky play. He'll see a lot of Cortland Finnegan, a player that has been getting abused all year.
