"Divorce is expensive,” Williams said when explaining why he was headed back to television for the first time since “Mork and Mindy.”
That’s right, the star of movies like “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Good Will Hunting” has two ex-wives and they are keeping him busy.
Williams told parade magazine he isn’t broke but he is reconfiguring. ”My life has downsized, in a good way. I'm selling the ranch up in Napa. I just can't afford it anymore."
The comic said when it comes to making money his options were somewhat limited.
"I have two [other] choices,” he began. “Go on the road doing stand-up, or do small, independent movies working almost for scale. The movies are good, but a lot of times they don't even have distribution. There are bills to pay.”
Williams showed his legendary sense of humor while talking about his divorces.
"I used to joke they were going to call it 'all the money,' but they changed it to 'alimony.' It's ripping your heart out through your wallet.”
Williams new show The Crazy Ones premiers on CBS on September 26th.
